What about AI?
I never use generative AI (GenAI) in my work because I can do a better job without it and I reject it as unethical and unsustainable.
GenAI’s writing and translation is neither good nor original and it often presents inventions as facts. That means lots of checking and no time saved.
In any case, it is unethical to present you with texts based on work stolen from other writers and translators and wrong to use an unsustainable technology based on guzzling water and energy the planet cannot afford.
That's why I refuse to use GenAI. If you agree, or if you just want a job done well by a trusted professional, give me a call.

Wine
I love wine. There’s something fascinating about a drink so closely linked to the culture and character of each area where it’s made. As well as enjoying a glass or two, I’ve backed up my interest with WSET 3 qualifications and lots of work related to wine.

I’ve been fascinated by other cultures ever since I started learning my first foreign language – French – when I was at school. That interest was enhanced when I moved to Catalonia 25 years ago and started learning Catalan and Spanish.

I've been passionate about history since I was a child and I studied the subject at university in Bristol, England. I still love visiting heritage sites and museums and I now specialise in cultural tourism as a translator. Now I blog about it too.

I began my working life as a journalist and I spent 15 years in newspapers in the UK. It taught me how to research, write, edit and organise my work. I wouldn’t be the professional I am today without that background. I still write journalistic pieces too.

I went to my first football match when I was seven and I'm passionate about the sport, going to games and following my beloved Ipswich Town from afar. I've done a lot of translations involving football, including a set of books for FC Barcelona.

I’ve loved music since I was a teenager and I get to concerts by my favourite artists whenever I can. I’ve also worked on many translations about music, not to mention the book I wrote about the Catalan cellist who played with the Beatles!
