Music

Music’s always been a big part of my life ever since I started listening to rock in my teens. All these years later, I still love going to gigs and often plan trips around them, although nowadays the convenience of streaming services has taken over my listening from vinyl and CD collections.

Music has also featured heavily in my work. As a journalist I was rock and pop correspondent on one of the local newspapers I worked for, and in translation I’ve translated everything from CD sleeve notes and websites to jazz club programmes.

I’ve also written a music-related book: a biography of the Catalan cellist Francisco Gabarró, who became known as a top classical and session musician in the UK, playing with the likes of Frank Sinatra and the Beatles.

Now I have a music blog, where I talk about different artists and the impact they've had on my life.
